When Deborah Drake isn’t writing, she sometimes heads out to find interesting subjects to photograph as reference for stories and sketches, and for the surprising beauty of what’s she’s seeing. For instance, here is a photo from on board a replica caravel, like the ones used by Christopher Columbus, the Niña and the Pinta. She’s fairly certain someday she will write a new adventure tale set in a magical alternate world during those days of exploration.
